Poteau girls ninth, Pirates 14th at Class 4A Pre-State Meet

EDMOND — The Poteau Lady Pirates cross country team was ninth and the Pirates 14th at Friday's Class 4A Pre-State Meet at Mitch Park — the site of the Class 4A State Meet.
The Lady Pirates had 224 points, and were led by Deven Bond's 19th-place finish (13:38.87). Sheridan Hoyer was 31st (13:54.46), Colleen Peterson was 56th (14:42.69), Samantha Galetka was 65th (14:58.92), Tabitha Waldrop was 66th (14:59.47), Shandee Staton was 96th (15:43.81) and Katie Piguet was 113th (16:11.33).

Poteau girls' rally falls short against Fort Gibson

After a rough first three innings in Wednesday night's Class 4A Regional Tournament winner's-bracket final against Fort Gibson, the Poteau Lady Pirates made a nice rally. But the bad news was the rally fell short as the Lady Tigers prevailed 5-4.
