BROKEN BOW — It was a “Key” victory for the Poteau Pirate freshmen football team Tuesday night, as in Jordan Key.
Key rushed for three touchdowns, scored on a two-point conversion and helped the defensive unit out in a 20-14 victory over the Broken Bow Savages at Memorial Stadium.
The Pansy Kidd Middle School football teams split their home games with Broken Bow Tuesday night at Costner Stadium.
The eighth-grade Raiders posted a 33-8 rout of the Savages, but the seventh-graders fell 30-16.
Friday is opening day for the 2011 youth gun hunt. I know of a bunch of kids who have been looking forward to this day for quite a long time. I’ve got a full agenda for the weekend that includes my boys and some of my ball players.
