Today families and players from all over the state will converge on Poteau to begin the OK Kids Midget Baseball State Tournament play.
Poteau will be the host site for the tournament that will begin today at 2 p.m. with eight teams that made it through regionals. There will be four games tonight, four games Wednesday night, three games on Thursday, two on Friday and possibly two on Saturday for the finals depending upon how it all plays out.
Region 7 At Panama
Friday
Spiro 13, Red Oak 2, Red Oak eliminated.
Panama 7, Spiro 3, Spiro eliminated.
Saturday
Tushka def. Panama, Tushka qualifies for state.
Region 6 at Durant
Friday
Madill 10, Caddo 8, Caddo eliminated.
Wister 14, Madill 1, Madill eliminated.
Saturday
Durant Rangers 4, Wister 1, Durant Rangers qualify for state.
Region 1 at Elk City
Friday
Granite 9, Elk City Gray Sox 8, Elk City Gray Sox eliminated.
Leedey 6, Granite 3, Granite eliminated.
Saturday
Elk City Brown Sox def. Leedey, Elk City Brown Sox qualify for state.
Region 2 at Elgin
Friday
Six two-golfer teams won titles at this past weekend's Spider Webb Invitational at Choctaw Country Club.
Brad Risenhoover and Levi Molini won the championship flight with a two-day score of 63-65—128. Randall Wheat and John Spikes were second (66-63—129), while Jerry Holton and Kale Holton (61-71—132) won third place in a scorecard playoff with Zac Pool and Travis Warner (65-67—132).
In the president's flight, Lyle Whitworth and Lance Sconyers took first place (65-67—132), followed by Ronnie Burgess and Jon Sullivan (70-68—138) and Brian Roberts and Kevin Traywick (70-68—138).
