Tushka Tigers pitching duo deliver shutout of Kingfisher ’Jackets to stave off elimination

For fans of pitchers, the first elimination game of Thursday afternoon's slate of action in the 2011 OK Kids Midget State Tournament at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex was to their liking.
The contest between the Tushka Tigers and the Kingfisher ’Jackets was indeed a pitcher's duel — although there were three pitchers involved.
Tushka's duo of Connor Sutton and Tyler Frank outdueled Kingfisher's starter Matt Hopkins and pitched the Tigers into tonight's loser's-bracket semifinal with a 2-0 victory.

Weatherford Red holds off late rally by Shawnee Muck Dogs to stay alive at state

By the second inning of Thursday afternoon's second elimination game of the 2011 OK Kids Midget State Tournament at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex, it looked pretty much as if the Weatherford Red was going to dominate the Shawnee Muck Dogs, who were run ruled in Wednesday night's late game against the Durant Rangers.
But by the time the game actually ended, Weatherford was breathing a big sigh of relief as a three-run, two-inning rally in the final innings by Shawnee fell short, and the Red escaped 6-5 victors to live to play at state at least for tonight.

Durant Rangers roll past Shawnee Muck Dogs into winner's-bracket final

It took a little while, but the Durant Rangers' bats came alive, and did so in a big way
The Rangers rolled past the Shawnee Muck Dogs 17-1 in a four-inning, run-rule contest Wednesday night to advance into the winner's-bracket finals, where they faced the Holdenville Outlaws late Thursday night.

Martin-McGee duo wins latest LCBC Tournament on Wister Lake

The LeFlore County Bass Club had its latest tournament Saturday at Wards Landing on Wister Lake. There were 21 boats with 36 anglers who caught 53 bass weighing a total of 120.73 pounds. The average fish weighed 2.28 pounds, and eight limits were caught.
“Ribeye” Randy Martin and “Lucky” Bucky McGee bested the tournament field with a total of 13.08 pounds, earning them $450.
