Patsy Ann Cauthron Chatterton, beloved
wife and mother, was born April 20, 1937,
in Hodgens.
Patsy grew up in Fanshawe and attended
primary and secondary school there.
Following marriage, she volunteered in
many church organizations as well as in
Girl Scouts for many years. In her spare
time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, housekeeping,
pet care and conversing with neighbors and
friends.
After many courageous years with surgeries, debilitating
neuropathy, lupus, diabetes and numerous other problems,
she departed this life on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at
Walter Charles “Cotton” Carmack, 84, of Poteau died
Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in Talihina. Services will be at 10
am, Friday, July 29, at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with
The Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Evans and Miller
Funeral Home of Poteau.
Katy Jean (Wann) Corn was born June
20, 1952, in Poteau to Clifton and Kathryn
Wann. She died July 23, 2011, at her home
in Howe. She was 59.
Katy married the love of her life. Elester
“Ray” Corn. on Oct. 11, 1975, and raised
their children in LeFlore County. Katy
lived her life serving and helping others
through childcare and home health until her
retirement. She was active with the Girl Scouts early in her
life and the Green Country Cloggers. She spent the last
years of her life enjoying her children and grandchildren.
Katy is survived by her children Roberta and Jimmy
Grethel Fox, 99, of Talihina died Saturday, July 23,
2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held Wednesday,
July 27, 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Mark
Cook officiating. Burial will follow at the Talihina
Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Evelyn R. Goletto, 53, of Heavener died
Saturday, July 23, 2011, at her home.
Evelyn was born Jan. 31, 1958, in
Anderson, Ind., to Darrell and Ruby
(Milligan) Chinn. Evelyn graduated with
honors from the University of Arkansas at
Fort Smith with a BBA in accounting. She
worked as a revenue officer for the Internal
Revenue Service.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell
Chinn and Ruby Stephens.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Craig Goletto of
Heavener and Larry Goletto of Texas; a brother, Winston
Johnson and his wife Deborah of Howe; mother-in-law,
After several attempts at making the outlook on Cavanal Hill a place for families and tourist to enjoy Poteau’s claim to fame, another set back has occurred causing once again a financial loss for the Cavanal Committee and those who enjoy the facilities located on the top of the hill.
Vandal’s stuck the newly constructed pavilion over the weekend causing damages estimated in excess of $5,000.
