SPIRO — The Spiro Lady Bulldogs continued their winning ways Tuesday afternoon as they defeated the Pocola Lady Indians 8-3.
Heavener 13, Whitesboro 0: In Whitesboro, the Lady Wolves (10-2) jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the opening inning and never looked back.
Wister 17, Smithville 2: In Smithville, since the Lady Wildcats (4-5) could not play their game at Talihina due to the Lady Golden Tigers not having enough players because of an injury, they headed into northern McCurtain County and handled the Lady Braves.
Tuesday afternoon's Leflore Savages baseball game at Indianola was canceled. The game will be rescheduled, but no date was told The Poteau Daily News by this edition's press time.
It is the second game this week which was canceled as the Savages' road game Monday afternoon at Smithville was cancelled.
The Savages will try to play a game this week when they play Varnum at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the opening round of the Calvin Tournament. The title game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday.
Sometimes it can be just as important to keep things going the way they are as it is to just improve. That seems to be the case with the Poteau Pirates football team, which will be in its final preseason scrimmage of the season at approximately 5 p.m. today against the host Tahlequah Tigers and the Miami Wardogs at Gable Field at Doc Wadley Stadium on the campus of Northeastern Oklahoma State University.
There's nothing like getting battle tested to get yourself ready for war. The Arkoma Mustangs football team will get just that tonight.
The Mustangs will be in a four-way scrimmage beginning at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Broken Arrow against host Summit Christian, Dewar and Welch.
When the Talihina Golden Tigers had their first football scrimmage last Thursday night at Doc Robinson Stadium against the Quinton Savages, the one thing which stood out to Talihina Coach Kelly Gravitt was that he needed to go back to the 4-3 defense. If this week's practices are any indication, the move is going to pay off.
For those wanting to see the Pocola Indians on the gridiron, they will need to wait one more night.
Instead of scrimmaging the Stigler Panthers at 7 p.m. tonight, they will meet them at 7 p.m. Friday. And instead of facing the Panthers at John Carter Field, it will take place in Stigler.
While the site of the Indians' final preseason scrimmage was not important, what is important is to continue riding the momentum the team has been on since ending the 2010 season on a three-game winning streak.

Hamilton Correctional Facility in Hodge around 6 p.m. Parker is described as a whtie male with gray hair and hazel eyes. He weighs approximately 200 pounds.
