KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Oklahoma Elite softball team was hoping to win five games on Saturday to stay alive in the 2011 World Series. Unfortunately, that did hot happen.
The Clay Center (Kan.) B's rallied to down the Elite 2-1 in an elimination game Saturday morning. The loss ended Elite's season.
BROKEN ARROW — Last December when the 2011 All-State Football Game Roster was announced, two Spiro Bulldogs, quarterback Clayton Mitchem and running back Elliott Hawkins, were not on it — only listed as alternates.
But thanks to Tulsa Union's Kale Pearson and Tulsa Washington's Isaac Bennett could not make the game, Mitchem and Hawkins, respectively, were named as their replacements for the East team. Needless to say both Bulldogs were happy campers.
