Hilldale Hornets sting Poteau Pirates

September 24, 2011

Since this is the last in a long line of Poteau-Hilldale games, the Hornets were always known as a 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust kind of team. Cunningham might well be, but without a doubt his strong right arm was what dismantled the Poteau Pirates in their District 4A-4 opener Friday night at Costner Stadium.
Cunningham threw four touchdown passes of 99, 80, 33 and 67 yards as the Hornets stung the Pirates 42-16.
