The Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation has performed the required pre-construction inspection for the Heavener skate park and splash pad project.
It is being partially funded through a Land and Water Conservation grant. Eve Atkinson and Susan Henry of tourism department met with Heavener City Manager Mike Kennerson and Nashoba Youth Foundation Director Lisa Fabian to perform the inspection and checklist.
The completion of the checklist places the city one step closer to starting construction, which can begin as soon as the National Park Service provides its approval.
