The Faculty and Staff of Carl Albert State College wishes everyone Happy Holidays!
The Catholic Charities Food Bank located at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Poteau spent Tuesday preparing boxes of food for area families.
The CC facility opened it's doors Oct. 8 but Tuesday organizers hosted an open house.

Two families are homeless following a morning fire at a duplex located on the 500 block of Dewey Avenue in Poteau.
Both apartments were occupied at the time of the fire. According to Vernon King, one of the tenants, he woke up and smelled smoke so he woke his neighbor and told him to get out of the house.
No one was injured in the fire. Poteau Fire Department was able to contain the fire to the attic of the home.
Grace Place, located at 15595 Green Top Road in Poteau, has invited the public to view the new shelter on Dec. 2 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
According to Nancy Putman, Executive Directory at Grace Cottage, a home for pregnant women ages 18 and under, Grace Place will provide services to women over the age of 18-21 and their children.
â€śWe need lots of household items such as kitchen supplies, linens and toiletries,â€ť said Putman. â€śGrace Place is registered at Kohl's and Walmart. This is a great opportunity for you to help us get the house off the ground, meet our new house parents.â€ť

Martin David Morris, 57, of Wister died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, in Wister.
Martin was born Dec. 31, 1954, in Sallisaw to Wilbert and Billie (Reed) Morris. He was superintendent at Donaho Stone, where he worked for more than 17 years. He loved to hunt and fish (on company time). Martin was preceded in death by his father; brother, William Charles Morris; sister, Shannon Kitchens; and niece, Stephanie May.
A man is behind bars after wrecking the stolen vehicle he was driving while leading police on a high-speed chase.
Dustin Virgil Hamman, 18, of Poteau, was arrested Tuesday evening on charges of larceny of an automobile, eluding police and running a road block stemming from the incident.
Hamman was reportedly driving a stolen Mercedes SUV that he had taken from a Poteau business when he was spotted by Poteau police officers.
The chase began on North Broadway and traveled through residential streets, ending when Hamman ran off the roadway on North Witte Street and fled on foot.
