The good news Saturday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse was that the Poteau Lady Pirates claimed their second straight Class 4A District Tournament title, but the not-so-good news was the Pirates suffered a loss.
The Lady Pirates won their second straight district title with a 59-45 win over the Hilldale Lady Hornets. However, in the nightcap, the Hornets were able to make it a split with the two schools as they defeated the Pirates 59-49.
WARNER — The Talihina Lady Golden Tigers took the first step in a four-game postseason winning streak to the Class 2A State Tournament in fine fashion Saturday night as they defeated the host Warner Lady Eagles 54-20 to win the district tournament.
The Lady Golden Tigers are now just three wins away from the Class 2A State Tournament. They will face Hulbert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Warner, with another win putting them into not only Saturday night's regional title game but automatically qualifying them for next week's Class 2A Area Tournament at the new Wilburton Gym.
