HEAVENER — It was a great start to the district season for the Heavener High School soccer teams Tuesday at Harvey Stadium.
The Lady Wolves had the more thrilling game of the doubleheader as they had to go into a shootout before getting past Porter Consolidated 3-2.
On the other hand, the Wolves were no match for the Hugo Buffaloes as they won handedly 6-1.
After the Heavener teams entertained Mena, Ark., Wednesday at Harvey Stadium, the Wolves will play in the Stilwell Tournament today and Friday. The Wolves will meet Wagoner at 2 p.m. this afternoon to begin the two-day event.
A local business has officially informed it's nearly 240 employees their services will no longer be needed as of May 31 when the facility plans to close their doors.
Bremner Food Group, located at 400 Industrial Blvd., in Poteau, is a division of the St. Louis based Ralcorp Holdings and on Wednesday afternoon Ralcorp Vice President of Human Resources, Steve Smith, confirmed the plant would close.
