Linda Loretta Pike, 62, of Fairbanks, Alaska, formerly of Panama, died March 3, 2012.
Linda was born Sept. 15, 1949, in Calhoun to Roland Burch and Freda Mae (Anderson) Bandoni. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Bruce Burch.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Pike of the home; her mother, Freda Mae Bandoni of Shady Point; one son, Steven Pike of Fairbanks; one grandson, Steven Pike II of Fairbanks; a sister, Diane Puryear of Eureka, Calif.; and a brother, David Burch of Shay Point.
The good news was that no LeFlore County baseball or softball team lost their games Thursday afternoon. But they didn't win them, either.
Thursday's rain postponed all of the county baseball and softball games, as well as Poteau High School's season-opening track meet at Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside High School.
Baseball games rained out Thursday were Heavener at Poteau, Cameron at Pocola, Howe and Battiest at Leflore, Union Christian, Ark., at Arkoma, Hartford, Ark., at Panama and Spiro at Tulsa Union.
Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2012 Poteau High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Categories include: football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls track, boys and girls golf, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls all-around athlete, wrestling, coaching and support and service.

The LeFlore County Bass Club had its first tournament of the 2012 season at Grasshopper Landing on Broken Bow Lake. The tournament had 19 boats with a combined 38 anglers who caught 70 fish weighing a combined total of 138.13 pounds. Each fish averaged 1.97 pounds, and 10 limits were brought to the scales.
Judd “Van Damm” Wann and Josh “Mister” Roberts took home first place with 11.32 pounds, earning $450.
