OKLAHOMA CITY — The Poteau Lady Pirates golf team is halfway to a sweep of the Class 4A State Tournament championships.
The Lady Pirates have the first-round lead at state after shooting a team score of 356 this afternoon at Lake Hefner South Golf Course.
Poteau is 12 team shots over the team which beat it at last week's regional, Hilldale (368). Anadarko is a distant third at 372.
Individually, sophomore Hannah Ward is leading the way with a 76, which is five shots better than any other golfer.
Randy Mangram, 52, of Talihina died Sunday, April 28, 2012, in Talihina.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Talihina Nazarene Church with Brent Smith officiating. Burial will be in New Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
