A fundraiser is being planned for a local paramedic who is facing cancer
for the second time. Twenty-one-year-old LeFlore County Emergency Medical Service paramedic Anthony Stankewitz is, unfortunately, no stranger to cancer. According to EMS Director David Grovdahl, it was little more than a year ago when Stankewitz became light headed while responding to an emergency. The LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkoma Police Department served a narcotics search warrant on an Arkoma residence Tuesday seizing methamphetamines and items believed to be used in the manufacturing of narcotics. An investigation led law enforcement to obtain a search warrant for the residence on Schasley Street allegedly occupied by Anthony Clayton Henry, 29.
ROGERS, Ark. — The Eastern Oklahoma Riverdawgs Major American Legion baseball team split its Tuesday dobuleheader with Rogers. The Riverdawgs took the nightcap 9-2 after losing the opener 11-2.
The Poteau Spirit Center will have a dance camp from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 14-16.
The entry fee is $65 per camper, and each camp will conclude with a performance on the camp's final day.

Entry Fee is $400 per team. Deadline for entry is June 28. There will be two divisions if enough teams enter.
If you are looking for something to do on June 16, you should head up to Robbers Cave State Park north of Wilburton between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the Antique Tractor and Implement Show. Registration is from 7 to 9 a.m. A people's choice award will be given to the categories of tractor, implement and miscellaneous.
There will be several family activities including an antique hay bailing demonstration, a horseshoe tournament, Dutch oven cooking demonstrations, old fashion “Tom Walker” stilts and stick and hoop rolling games. It will be fun for all, so plan to attend.
