The 47th Spider Webb Two-Person Scramble Golf Tournament will take place July 14-15 at Choctaw Country Club.
The entry fee for the two-person scramble is $175 per golfer, which includes range balls and a practice round on July 13 and dinner on July 14.

Friday Couple Scrambles will take place at 5:30 p.m. every Friday at Wolf Ridge Golf Course.

ARVADA, Colo. â The Oklahoma Elite softball team, featuring several LeFlore County and area softball players, won its first four games in the Triple Crown Colorado Sparkler, which is taking place at the Lutz Complex.
On Monday, the Elite downed the Kansas City Impact 9-1 and defeated the Diamond Dusters 6-4, then routed Power Surge 11-1 and rallied to down the Utah Riptide 5-4.
The Elite will play at 9 a.m. C.S.T. this morning against an opponent to be determined.
JENKS â Poteau Lady Pirate golfer Hannah Ward did it the hard way, but she won yet another tournament.
Ward, who won the Class 4A State Tournament last month in Oklahoma City, had to go through a six-hole playoff to win the George Phillips Junior South Central Professional Golf Association Tournament Wednesday.
Ward, who birdied three of the last four holes in the six-hole playoffs, won the girls age 15-18 division with a score of 74.
Two other Poteau golfers were in the boys age 15-18 division. Cody Shore shot an 72 and placed fourth, while Ryan Ward carded an 88.
Gail Hobbs Moore, formerly of Poteau and Tulsa, died on May 19, 2012, in Valley Park, Mo. She was 92. She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Russellville, Ark., where she attended high school. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Robert âJimmyâ Moore, who died in 1965. Gail and Jimmy spent many happy years in Poteau and were active in The First Methodist Church and in school activities with their five children. Gail was also preceded in death by her mother, Norma Campbell Hobbs; father, Earl Roberts Hobbs; sister, Harriette Hobbs Pattie; and brother, George Hall Hobbs.
Allan A. Guinn of Spanaway, Wash., formerly of Poteau, died Sunday, June 24, 2012. Allan, better known by his nickname âJiggsâ as he grew up on Lus Holtonâs big farm near Cameron during the Depression, was born on July 5, 1925, to Bert Sr. and Mable V. (Pool) Guinn in Poteau.
Maxine Geraldine âJerryâ Miller of Monroe died Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Poteau. Jerry was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Roswell, N.M., to Tom and Leona (Anderson) Fortner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul X. Miller; sister, Clara Murphee; brothers, V.I. Fortner and Ed Fortner
The LeFlore County Bass Club had its eighth, and final, tournament of the 2012 circuit Sunday at Applegate Cove on Robert S. Kerr Reservoir. There were 50 anglers in 27 boats who caught 83 fish weighing a collective 189.41 pounds. The average fish weighed 2.28 pounds, and 12 limits were caught.
Besting the field was the duo of Robbie âBokosheâ Brassfield and Keith âStoneâ Jones, whose winning stringer weighed 14.94 pounds to earn them $625.
For the fourth and fifth times this season, the Eastern Oklahoma Riverdawgs Major American Legion baseball team came out on the short end against Kerwins.
In Tuesday's doubleheader at Poteau High School's Town Creek Park, Kerwins beat the Riverdawgs 12-2 in the opener, then run ruled the locals 13-3 in five innings in the nightcap.
The Riverdawgs will return to action at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cameron as they entertain the Oklahoma City Bulls for a doubleheader.
