WISTER — Wister pitcher Colby Turnipseed threw a perfect game as the Wildcats blanked the Howe Lions 11-0 Monday afternoon.
Turnipseed faced the minimum 12 batters in the four-inning contest, recording eight strikeouts — including fanning the final four batters faced.
Leflore 5, Buffalo Valley 4, 9 inn.: In Leflore, Luke Isbell's RBI single in the ninth inning won the game for the Savages.
Smithville 7, Whitesboro 2: In Smithville, Quentin Ludlow's RBI single in the first inning put the Bulldogs ahead 1-0.
BUFFALO VALLEY — The Leflore Savages baseball team had a short stay in last weekend's Buffalo Valley Tournament.
The Savages lost 7-6 to the Boswell Scorpions in the opening round on Thursday night, then fell 9-1 to the Kiowa Cowboys in the consolation semifinals on Friday. The second loss eliminated the Savages from the tournament.
Carl Albert State College Assistant Softball Coach Megan Young will give softball lessons at $25 per hour to girls up through age 18.
