Joe David Terry, 79, of Spiro died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in Fairview Cemetery, Panama, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
James Raymond Stanley, 64, of Spiro died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in Fort Smith (Ark.) National Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
Steven Dale Sebo, 50, of Spiro died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012. Services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at Victory Worship Center with burial in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
Burl O. Griffith, 87, of Spiro died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012. Services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro.
Verna Louise Durant, 74, of Poteau died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in Tulsa.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with burial in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Marcielle “Sis” Babb Garner, 89, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in Fayetteville. She was born May 24, 1923, in Summerfield to Arthur Lee Babb and Savannah Mae (Sisk) Babb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Eugene Garner.
The San Antonio based band The KLO:CKS took the stage at 8 p.m. Friday evening as part of the summer concert series "Under the Stars" held at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center Amphitheater.
The band filled the night air with rock and country tunes from all decades and it didn't take long before several people, young and old,had taken to the dance floor.
The Oklahoma band Ricochet is scheduled to perform in September as the closing event of the summer concert series.
During the regular meeting of the county commissioners a proclamation was singed declaring Sept. 5 as LeFlore County 911 Day.
The proclamation is in honor of the department's tenth anniversary. According to Randy Tolbert, director of 911, the department will host an open house on Sept. 5 open to the public. During the open house attendees will learn about the facility and the services they provide.
