PANAMA — The Panama Razorbacks had a triangular football scrimmage against the Canadian Cougars and the Sallisaw-Central Tigers Friday night at George Ollie Stadium. Only two touchdowns were scored in the entire scrimmage.
STILWELL — In the eyes of Chris Bunch, Spiro High School's veteran football coach, his Bulldogs made improvement in Friday night's scrimmage against the Stilwell Indians from their first scrimmage the week before at Tulsa Webster along with Okmulgee.
“I think we improved from last week at Tulsa Webster,” Bunch said. “We looked a lot better, but we still have a ways to go — but we did improve.”
VIAN — The Talihina Golden Tigers traveled to Vian for their final preseason football scrimmage of the season, and came away one positive. They don't have to play the Wolverines in the district anymore.
The Wolverines returned a senior-dominated team of 40 players from last year's team which lost to eventual Class 2A state champion Hennessey in the state quarterfinals. Five of those seniors are being looked at by Division I colleges, and the Wolverines have a talented group of juniors and sophomores to go with them.
