Tuesday night could very well have been a prelude to what fans will see Sept. 13 at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex in the 2012 version of the LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Tournament.
When the Poteau Lady Pirates outlasted — literally — the Panama Lady Razorbacks 1-0 in a 14-inning, 3.5-hour contest, it gave the Lady Pirates the necessary edge to garner the top seed, which was determined at Wednesday night's seeding meeting at Western Sizzlin'.
Carl Albert State College Assistant Softball Coach Megan Young will give softball lessons at $25 per hour to girls up through age 18.

Friday Couple Scrambles will take place at 5:30 p.m. every Friday at Wolf Ridge Golf Course.

It was the fall of 1995. All anyone was talking about all week long was the upcoming Friday night Poteau Pirates' football game against the top-ranked and undefeated Ada Cougars, who featured a tight end who would later play in the National Football League — Jeremy Shockey. Also, Brandon Daniels was the Ada quarterback.
Both teams were 7-0, and it was dubbed as the No. 1 high school game in the state for that week.
