The last time the Panama Razorbacks were home, they had a strong opening half against the Gore Pirates before losing in the season opener Aug. 30 at George Ollie Stadium. The Hogs are hoping for some of that same magic, this time for a full four quarters, on Friday night.
The Razorbacks will open District 2A-6 play at 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Wilburton Diggers at George Ollie Stadium.
The Arkoma Mustangs football team didn't get to open its home season last Friday night the way it had hoped. The Mustangs suffered a 56-6 loss to the Maud Tigers, but Mark Weatherton, Arkoma's coach, is quick to point out that his team may have played the best team in District C-4.
The Talihina Golden Tigers football team cannot do any better than it has to this point of the 2012 season, winning all three games — including Thursday night's 28-17 win over the Sallisaw Black Diamonds junior varsity at Sallisaw's Perry F. Lattimore Stadium.
Carl Albert State College Assistant Softball Coach Megan Young will give softball lessons at $25 per hour to girls up through age 18.
