SHAWNEE — The Heavener High School cross country teams competed Saturday at the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational at Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech Center, which is the site of this season's Class 3A State Meet.
The Lady Wolves finished 15th with 394 points, as Hennessey won the girls' team title with 102 points.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The stage was set for Arkansas starting quarterback Tyler Wilson and the Hogs to stop a two game-losing streak, and maybe save what's left of their season Saturday night at Frank Broyles Field at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
The Razorbacks had the opportunity to come back from a 14-10 halftime deficit, after squandering a 10-0 first quarter lead, but the Hogs let too many scoring chances go by the board and fell to gunslinging Gary Nova and the Knights 35-26.
TULSA — For most of the first half — even into the third quarter — of Saturday night's game between the Fresno State Bulldogs and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium, it didn't look to good for the home team.
Tulsa quarterback Cody Green had two interceptions returned for touchdowns by the Bulldogs, who led 20-7 after one quarter and had a 26-17 advantage after the second pick-six with 12:33 left in the third quarter.
However, the mark of a good team is to find ways to win, and the Golden Hurricane did just that as they ended up with a 27-26 victory.
