The Pocola Indians are anxious to get back in the win column after facing two very good teams — the Quinton Savages (who beat them 30-14 in their home opener two weeks ago) and the second-ranked Vian Wolverines (who defeated them 68-0 in last week's District 2A-6 opener).
Rick Lang, Pocola's coach, said even in the preseason that Vian was going to be the team to beat in the district. After last week's game, he's even more sure of that.

After a great year, Bob Denton and Jason Roberts won the 2012 LeFlore County Bass Club's Team of the Year Award. They beat out 34 other teams, and it's a great accomplishment — considering the quality of anglers the club has had over the past few years.
Denton and Roberts hauled in 76.08 pounds of bass this season to earn $500. Andy Nance and Rodney Faulkenberry were second (68.77 pounds, $400), followed by Keith Griffith and Gary Steelman (68.66, $300), Robbie Brassfield and Keith Jones (65.29, $200) and Joey Chitwood and Tony Parker (63.84, $100).
