A home was damaged by fire Saturday night in Poteau.
According to Poteau Fire Chief Jon Pickel, an electric space heater is likely to blame for the blaze at 1005 Grady St. The fire occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Saturday.
Pickel said the space heater was located in the doorway between a bedroom and the living room. The fire spread to the front porch of the residence doing extensive damage, said the chief.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
Ella Mae Hamilton, 91, of Flower Hill died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro. Burial will be in Old Cache Cemetery.
May Margaret Lambert, 92, of Talihina died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Talihina Nazarene Church under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Marion Cleemo Haynes, 69, of Heavener died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in Perry Baptist Church at Conser. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Heavener, under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
Johnny Ray Johnson, 80, died in his home at The Oaks Healthcare Center in Poteau on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.
Johnny was born Aug. 30, 1933, in Howe. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Lorene Johnson; brothers, Cecil and Jerry; and sister, Deloris Benson, all of Howe.
Johnny is survived by numerous friends who became like family at The Oaks.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at The Oaks with the Rev. Joe Hall officating.

Spiro will celebrate Mayfest on May 4.
Events will include a craft show, plant sale, rummage sale, pancake breakfast and other food items, the library summer kick-off show and a 5K run.
Other events will be added in coming months.
The craft show will be in the Methodist Church parking lot on U.S. 59 and Main Street. To reserve a booth, contact mayfest@outlook.com or (918) 839-0176 to receive an information packet. An 11x11 booth will be $25 until March 15.
The Poteau Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 94th annual Chamber Banquet will take place February 28 at 6 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center in Poteau.
Tickets for the event are $25 with corporate tables available for $325.
