WHITESBORO â€” The Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs celebrated Senior Night with a 52-24 victory over the Panola Lady Bearcats on Thursday night at Steve Linker Gymnasium.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped to a 15-4 lead after a period and never looked back.
Ashalee Nunley and Maecie Smith played their last regular-season game on their home court.
Arkoma 59, McCurtain 45: In McCurtain, the Lady Mustangs stampeded out to a 20-9 lead after a period and never trailed.
WHITESBORO â€” The Whitesboro Bulldogs picked up a 58-23 win over the Panola Bearcats on Senior Night on Thursday night at Steve Linker Gymnasium.
The â€™Dogs led 13-5 after a period, en route to a 28-9 halftime advantage. They took a 52-14 lead into the final period.
Five seniors, Hunter Tidwell, Quinton Ludlow, Colton Sisemore, C.J. Dean and Michelle Robatto, played their last regular-season game on their home court.
OKLAHOMA CITY â€” The Oklahoma City Thunder returned home from its six-game road trip to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have reeled off nine straight wins to take a one-and-a-half game lead on the Thunder (tied in the loss column) in the race for the best record in the National Basketball Association heading into Thursday nightâ€™s game.
The Thunder needed a win to keep pace with the Spurs, and to avenge a mid-November loss at home to these same Grizzlies.
Earlier this season, the Spiro Lady Bulldogs seventh-grade basketball team defeated the Pansy Kidd Middle School Lady Raiders. The Lady Raiders had a chance to avenge that loss, and in the process take home first place in their own tournament Thursday night. It didn't quite happen.
After making a furious fourth-quarter rally, the Lady Raiders fell 35-33 to the Lady Bulldogs in the championship contest.
WARNER â€” Behind a strong effort on the defensive end and 18 points from D. Brown and 16 points from Ericka Edwards, the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings rolled past the Connors State College Cowgirls 69-55 on Thursday night.
A late run in the second half proved to be the difference for the 22nd-ranked Connors State Cowboys in their 64-54 win over the Vikings in the second game on Thursday night.
Loy J. Dobbins, 93, of Poteau died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Poteau. Loy was born July 30, 1919, in Dadeville, Mo., to Ormal and Eliza (Brotherton) Dobbins. Loy graduated from Dadeville High School and the University of Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Loy married Gertrude Frank July 3, 1959, in Tulsa. He worked at Guaranty Abstract Co. in Tulsa before moving to Poteau in 1971. In Poteau he worked for Logan Abstract Co. and ultimately retired from the Department of Human Services in 1988.
Friends of Buckley Library are hosting the second annual Chocolate Decadence Party and Contest from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Lowery Hotel.Â

The criteria used for judging is creativity, taste and visual appeal.Â Categories are professional or culinary student, adult amateur (18 and up), and youth amateur (Under 18).
