NWS: Batten down the hatches

July 26, 2013

The National Weather Service warned LeFlore County residents to brace for another possible riot of storms and flash flooding Thursday evening and today.
Storms overnight Tuesday dumped almost 5 inches of rain in parts of the county, broke and uprooted trees and washed out some roads.
A flash flood watch for most of eastern Oklahoma was in effect through tonight, according to the NWA Tulsa office.
A flash flood watch means rapidly rising water or flooding is possible and people in the area should be ready to act if they see flooding or a warning is issued.
