Just 24 hours earlier, the Poteau Lady Pirates softball team scored a total of 27 runs in two home games on Monday against Spiro and Sallisaw. It was a far cry from that in Tuesday's home game with the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs.
It took an RBI double by RaeLynn Caldwell in the fifth inning to snap a 1-all tie to give the Lady Pirates a 2-1 victory.
WHITESBORO — The Cameron Lady Yellowjackets were the team of the day in Tuesday's three-way at Whitesboro with the host Lady Bulldogs and the Bokoshe Lady Tigers.
The Lady ’Jackets downed the host Lady Bulldogs 3-0, while handling the Lady Tigers 13-0.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Tigers 9-4 in the third game of the day.
Pocola 8, Spiro 4: In Spiro, the Lady Indians jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but put the game away with a pair of two-run innings in the sixth and seventh for an 8-1 lead.
Then there were two — two teams undefeated, that is, in the 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament, which is taking place at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex.
Spiro and Heavener will play in the winner's-bracket final at 5 today for the right to get to the 7:20 p.m. championship game, where that team must be beaten twice — which would mean that the 8:30 p.m. if-game will be necessary.
Spiro beat Poteau/Pansy Kidd Middle School, while Heavener got past Wister in the two championship semifinals Tuesday night.
