Registration is now open for the 2013 LeFlore County Express Fall Soccer League.
Registration can be done through the Internet at www.leflorecountysoccer.com.
Current registration cost per child is $40.

The 2013 Poteau Coed Church Softball League registration has begun.
Any church that is interested in playing at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex this summer needs to contact Billy Bond at (918) 647-1939.
The entry fee is $400 per team. Deadline to entry is June 26.
League will begin play on July 8 or 9.
May 31st
Due to the combination of overnight rains Thursday night/Friday morning and the threat of more rain Friday night and/or Saturday in the Wilburton area, the 2013 Kiamichi All-Star Classic Softball and Baseball Games have been canceled.
They were to have been played at 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, but have been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather and field conditions.
No make-up date has been set.
The second annual Brittney Cox Memorial Golf Tournament 2-Man Scramble will take place at noon June 29 at Choctaw Country Club. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m.
The event was slated for April 27 but was rained out.
The entry fee is $135 per team, but for teams that have golf carts their fee will be $120.
Mulligans will be available at $10 for two, with a limit of two per golfer.
All proceeds will benefit Poteau High School.

According to Michael Davidson, emergency management director,significant flooding has occurred overnight in areas of central and southern LeFlore County. Some areas received over 6” of rain fall in storms that were slow moving or training over the same general area, said Davidson.
May 30th
The first week of games in the 2013 Panama Summer Softball League was rained out Thursday afternoon and night.
Panama coach Grant Ralls said the complete 21-game slate of games that were rained out Thursday will be rescheduled, but the date has not been set.
Week 2’s games will be played next Thursday, beginning with a game at noon and ending with three games starting at 8 p.m.
The complete Week 2 schedule will be printed in next Thursday morning’s edition.

Factory Stock Race
The ninth Annual “Hooked On Fishing” Kids Tournament will be from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at Long Lake Resort. There will be a hotdog bash after the tournament for all who attend.
Jacques and I will try our luck again this year, and I have a secret bait that will surely catch a few big ones! I'm always looking for new lures that some how have magical powers to fill the boat.
