It was a busy weekend for me

October 25, 2013

On Oct. 17, the Adams family went to the Poteau Pirates' home District 4A-4 football game at Costner Stadium against the Tulsa Cascia Hall Commandos — and that was just the start of my busy weekend.
Last Friday morning, I'm up by 5 a.m., hauling dirt bikes and 50 pounds of Okie burgers to Balloon Fest at the LeFlore County Fairgrounds.

The Pirates (6-1 overall, 3-1 in District 4A-4) will look to redeem themselves after last week's home loss to Tulsa Cascia Hall as they will travel to meet the Muldrow Bulldogs (2-5, 2-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Battle of Bulldogs Friday night for Spiro at Valliant

October 24, 2013

One thing will be for sure at the end of Friday night — the Bulldogs will win. The only question will be is the winning team from Spiro or Valliant.
Spiro (6-1 overall, 4-0 in District 3A-8 play) will visit Valliant (2-5, 2-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a battle of Bulldogs.
Spiro is on a six-game winning streak since losing its season opener 32-14 to Vian. The local Bulldogs are entering coming off a 35-7 win over Heavener on Oct. 17 at Harvey Stadium. However, in Spiro coach Chris Bunch's opinion, it took a strong second half to pull away from the pesky Wolves.

Panama has big 2A-6 game at home Friday with Hugo

An old adage says that the biggest game is the next one. That is so true for the Panama Razorbacks football team.
The Razorbacks (5-2, 3-1 in District 2A-6) will try to win their third straight game when they entertain the Hugo Buffaloes (5-2, 1-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at George Ollie Stadium. The winner will likely solidify a playoff game for Week 11.

Talihina not overlooking Haileyville on Friday night

October 24, 2013

Some would call Friday night's District A-6 road game against the Haileyville Warriors for the Talihina Golden Tigers a trap game, since the big district showdown takes place the following week at home against the Savanna Bulldogs. However, the Golden Tigers (7-0 overall, 3-0 in district play) are thinking anything but that about the winless Warriors (0-7, 0-3).
