ROLAND — The Poteau Lady Pirates got the season sweep of the Roland Lady Rangers, winning 11-4 Monday afternoon.
Howe 7, Cameron 6, 10 inn.; Howe 8, Sallisaw-Central 3; Cameron 7, Sallisaw-Central 4: In Sallisaw, the Lady Lions got a pair of wins in the three-game festival.
In the win over Cameron, Alli Ford's bases-loaded walk with one out forced home Keely Griffith with the game-winning run.
In Howe's win over the host Lady Tigers, the Lady Lions clawed their way to a 4-0 lead in the opening inning.
SAVANNA — It was the Clark Austin show in Monday afternoon's road game against the Savanna Bulldogs.
The Talihina senior hit a grand-slam home run and got the pitching victory as the Golden Tigers routed the Dawgs 18-3.
Editor's note — Talihina's Tuesday home game with Smithville was rained out, with no rescheduled date set as of press time.
IDABEL — Three Heavener Wolves were able to hit the links Tuesday before the rain hit at the Valliant Invitational at the Idabel Country Club.
Jackson Long shot an 86, and likely will finish in the top 15 but not high enough to medal.
Colt Dunigan shot a 96, while Chance Dunigan carded a 106.
Poteau's golf teams were rained out of their respective tournaments on Tuesday, the Pirates at the Fort Gibson Tournament and the Lady Pirates at the Hilldale Invitational in Muskogee.

The mother of several children who was sentenced to more than a decade in prison for child neglect and enabling child sexual abuse has been denied her request to withdraw her plea of guilty.
Lucinda Haskin entered a blind plea of guilt on Jan. 4 to nine counts of child neglect and three counts of enabling child sexual abuse.
On Feb. 22, Haskin appeared before District Judge Jon Sullivan to learn her fate. Haskin was sentenced to 165 years behind bars.
Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak will be guest speaker for the Poteau Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at noon Friday.
The lunch will be held in Health and Science Rooms 517-518 at Kiamichi Technology Center.
Doak's talk is expected to cover ISO rating, relationship to insurance premiums and firefighter and law enforcement pension funds, and insurance fraud and exploitation of the elderly.

This year marks the 23rd year AES-Shady Point has called LeFlore County Home.
The 320 megawatt coal-fired plant located eight miles north of Poteau began construction in 1988 and officially began operations on January 15, 1991. The plant sells its electrical output to Oklahoma Gas and Electric, which provides power to more than 230,000 homes and businesses throughout a two-state region. The company also is the first facility in the United States to produce a food grade carbon dioxide.
It took a while Monday night at Town Creek Park, but the Poteau Pirates baseball team finally was able to put away the pesky Panama Razorbacks by a score of 11-0 in a six-inning, run-rule victory.
The Hogs opened the day with a 9-5 come-from-behind victory over the Whitesboro Bulldogs.
Due to Tuesday’s rain, the Day 2 games were rained out.
The Pirates will meet the Cameron Yellowjackets at 6 p.m. Friday in Cameron in the winner’s-bracket quarterfinals.
CAMERON — The Wister Wildcats took the first step in defending their county title Monday night with a 12-4 come-from-behind victory over the Howe Lions on opening-day action of the LeFlore County Tournament.
The Lions opened the day with a comeback 3-2 win over the Leflore Savages.
The last game of the night also saw a comeback as the host Cameron Yellowjackets rallied past the Heavener Wolves 8-6.
However, everyone will have to wait until at least Friday to play their next tournament game as Tuesday’s slate of games was rained out.
POCOLA — On Thursday afternoon, the Pocola Indians came within an eyelash of knocking off the Spiro Bulldogs, only to fall short by the score of 4-3.
The same two teams met Monday afternoon in the winner’s-bracket quarterfinals of the LeFlore County Tournament. Unfortunately for the homestanding Indians, the outcome was the same.
The Bulldogs downed the Indians 9-2 after the Indians opened the day with a 15-1 rout of the Arkoma Mustangs.
