OU might have been looking ahead to Texas and almost forgot about TCU Horned Frogs

October 8, 2013

NORMAN — We should have all expected a game like this — coming right after a great win on the road at Notre Dame and right before the Red River Rivalry next Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Oklahoma Sooners didn’t play very well, but a win is a win at this point in the season. The Sooners are still undefeated after a lackluster 20-17 victory over
Texas Christian on Saturday night at Owen Field.

OSU Cowboys looked better against K-State than week before against West Virginia

October 8, 2013

STILLWATER — There's no question that the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team laid an egg on Sept. 28 when they opened Big 12 play against West Virginia.
However, things looked better for the Pokes on Saturday afternoon for their Big 12 home opener at Boone Pickens Stadium against Kansas State as they outlasted the Wildcats 33-29. Mind you, I didn't say a lot better, but better nontheless.

I like Hannah better than Miley

October 8, 2013

I have a confession to make. I have sat down several times and watched “Hannah Montana” when it was on the Disney Channel with my grandchildren. Now, every time I read a magazine or turn on the Internet, I am greeted with several things about the show's star, Miley Cyrus, that makes me disappointed. For example, she is getting new tattoos. Last week, it showed her getting the soles of her feet inked. Or, she is taking off her clothes and posing naked. She said that she was born to be wild.
I like Hannah better than I do Miley.

October 6, 2013

The good guys won two of the three football games played Thursday at Costner Stadium. The Poteau Pirates freshmen team posted an 8-6 win over the Sallisaw Black Diamonds in a game which only saw one half of football played.
The Pansy Kidd Middle School eighth-grade Raiders had little problem in handling Sallisaw, winning 32-8.
However, the first game of the tripleheader saw the Black Diamonds defeat the seventh-grade Raiders 28-16.
