Muldrow teams sweep Poteau

A pair of fourth-quarter comebacks by the visiting Muldrow teams doomed Tuesday night's home basketball games for Poteau at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
The Lady Bulldogs began things with a 59-52 come-from-behind win, while the ’Dogs did likewise in posting a 56-53 win.

Poteau wrestlers beat Keys (Park Hill)

While the Poteau High School basketball teams were using the main stage for their home games against Muldrow on Tuesday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse, the Poteau wrestling team used the back gym for a home dual with the Keys (Park Hill) Cougars.
The Pirates did not let the smaller confines bother them as they handled the Cougars 57-15.
The junior high dual was also won by Poteau by a score of 60-20.
The Pirates will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Maverick Conference Tournament in Wagoner. Action will begin at noon Friday.

Body found in Talihina identified

A body found in a Talihina pond on Monday has been identified.
According to the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department, 19-year-old Joshua Teves was reported missing days before being found dead Monday by the Talihina Police Department.
The cause of death still has not been released, said Sheriff Rob Seale.
Investigators are treating the death as a possible homicide until the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office determines the cause of death.

Lady Vikings, Vikings get swept by archrival Eastern

A 33-22 second half by the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers proved to be the difference for them in their 65-60 win over the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings in the first game of Monday night's doubleheader at Mick Thompson Fieldhouse.
A career-high 34-point performance by Mairega Clark wasn't enough for the Vikings in their 111-97 loss to archrival Mountaineers.
The CASC teams will return to action Thursday night against Redlands Community College in El Reno. The women's game will be at 6 p.m., followed by the men's contest at 8 p.m.
