RED OAK â€” The Poteau Pirates returned to their winning ways Tuesday afternoon with an 8-5 road win over the Red Oak Eagles.
The Pirates broke a 4-all tie with a single run in the fourth inning and a three-run fifth inning for an 8-4 lead.
Talihina 6, Whitesboro 2: In Talihina, the Golden Tigers won for the second straight game, breaking a 1-all tie with a two-run second inning for a 3-1 lead.
Spiro 20, Muldrow 10: In Spiro, the LeFlore County â€™Dogs won the battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon.
TAHLEQUAH â€” The Poteau Lady Pirates lost for the third straight time this week, dropping a pair of games to the Tahlequah Lady Tigers by scores of 9-0 and 18-3.
In the opener, the Lady Pirates only had four hits.
In the nightcap, the Lady Pirates rallied to cut the deficit to 7-3 in the second inning, but the Lady Tigers put the game into run-rule status with an 11-run second inning.
Cameron 8, Arkoma 4; Arkoma 12, Cameron 4: Tuesday in Cameron, the county rivals split their doubleheader.
The Poteau High School soccer teams opened district play with two different games at two different sites, but the outcomes were the same â€” wins.
The Pirates traveled to Hugo and routed the host Buffaloes 10-0, while the Lady Pirates returned to their winning ways with a 2-1 district road victory against Keys (Park Hill).
The Poteau teams will return to action next Tuesday night for their homecoming games against Hilldale at Costner Stadium. The girls' contest will be at 5 p.m, followed by the boys' game at 7 p.m.

POCOLA â€” Behind the strong pitching Ricky Manzano, the Pocola Indians improved top 9-0 Monday afternoon as Manzano threw a perfect five innings against the Wilburton Diggers, blanking them 10-0.
TALIHINA â€” Two big innings propeled the Talihina Golden Tigers past the Howe Lions 9-1 Monday afternoon for their first win of the season.
With the game tied at 1 in the fourth inning, the Golden Tigers scored three runs in the fourth inning and a six-run fifth ended the game by run rule.
Leflore 8, Panola 4: In Leflore, the Savages broke a 2-all tie with a five-run fifth inning, highlighted by Garrett Singleterry's two-run home run, to take a 7-2 lead after five innings.
POCOLA â€” The Wister Lady Wildcats began the post-spring break portion of their slow-pitch softball season with a 5-3 road win over the Pocola Lady Indians on Monday afternoon.
The Lady Wildcats got all five runs in the second inning to break a scoreless deadlock.
A Courtney Hargrove two-run double in the fifth inning cut the deficit to 5-3, but the Lady Indians got no closer.
