Poteau girls fall to Red Oak in tournament title game

April 1, 2014

RED OAK — The good news for the Poteau Lady Pirates softball team was playing for the title of the Red Oak Tournament on Friday night. The not-so-good news was the Lady Pirates had to get past the tournament-host Lady Eagles, which they couldn't do.
The Lady Eagles flew past the Lady Pirates 21-2 in the title game after beating them 10-3 in the winner's-bracket final.
The Lady Pirates reached the title game with a 12-4 win over Quinton in the loser's-bracket final.
The Wister Lady Wildcats went 2-1 on the final day, beating Cameron 12-2 and McCurtain 9-5, but losing to Quinton 12-8.
