At KBA Camp with 'Bungee' Barbara Billy

July 11, 2014

I've been at Kiamichi Baptist Assembly [KBA] Camp in Talihina with Double Branch Baptist Church's youth group this week. I was one of the sponsors and the event co-ordinator.
As you can imagine, all of those kids wanted to do everything. So, we signed up for every sport and activity offered for the week.
Among the activities offered was a “rope challenge course” with a giant swing as well as ziplining and the dreaded “Leap of Faith.” The “Leap of Faith” is a 25-foot long pole that you climb up and have to jump off and try to grab a flag about 10 feet away from you.

'Tuck in' program seeking volunteers

July 10, 2014

Peachtree Hospice Poteau is seeking volunteers to take part in their "Tuck In Program."
The volunteers will be making phone calls to patient's homes every Thursday to "Tuck" them in for the weekend, and make certain that they have enough supplies and medication to get them through the weekend. If they need anything, our team will make sure they get it before the weekend.
This is one of the may ways they ensure patients are taken care of, and let them know how very much they are cared about.
If you would like to help, please call (918) 647-7008.
