Spiro baseball player enjoyed playing in All-State Game

Spiro’s Jason Hickman set two goals before embarking on his high school baseball career. One was met by earning a spot on the East team for the All-State Large School Baseball Game, which took place Tuesday night at Oral Roberts University’s R.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa. Hickman played center field Tuesday night.
“It’s been the biggest honor I have ever had in my life,” Hickman said. “I’ve been looking forward to this since the first day of my freshman year. This was what I wanted throughout high school, that and a state championship.”

Fallin: Daughter's trailer at governor's mansion must go

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin said Tuesday she was trying to be a good mother when she let her daughter park a "nice trailer" on the grounds of the governor's mansion, but that the vehicle runs afoul of an obscure state regulation and Christina Fallin must move the home on wheels.

Several LeFlore County and area athletes, plus one local coach, will take part in the 2015 All-State Games that begin Monday and end Friday in the Tulsa metropolitan area.
Here's the complete list with their respective date, time and place:
Golf — Cody Shore, Poteau — 8:30 a.m. Monday, Cherokee Hills Golf Course, Catoosa
Baseball — Jason Hickman, Spiro — 7 p.m. Tuesday, J.L. Stadium at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa (Buffalo Valley's Brandon Fogerty is an alternate for the Small East team's game at 4:30 p.m.)
Girls Basketball — Paige Campagna, Red Oak — 7 p.m. Wednesday, ORU Mabee Center

Former Heavener pitcher doing well in A ball

Earlier this year, former Heavener Wolf and current Oklahoma State Cowboys pitcher Koda Glover was drafted by the Washington Nationals. The LeFlore County product started his professional career this summer.
Glover has spent time with two A League baseball teams — the Hagerstown [Md] Suns of the South Atlantic League and the Auburn [N.Y.] Doubledays of the New York-Penn League.
