MCALESTER, Okla. (AP) â€” Eastern Oklahoma State College has been ordered to repay the federal government more than $1 million after some students received student aid when they were not eligible.
The school said Thursday that it will appeal some of findings in the U.S. Department of Education's March 2014 review of its student aid program, the McAlester News-Capital (http://bit.ly/1UgGgBm ) reported.
At Wednesday nightâ€™s seeding meeting at Western Sizzlinâ€™, Spiro was the unanimous selection to be the top seed of the 2015 LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament, with Pocola getting the second seed. Seeds three through 13 went to Wister, Heavener, Poteau, Howe, Cameron, Whitesboro, Panama, Leflore, Talihina, Arkoma and Bokoshe, respectively.
The county tournament will begin Monday at the Poteau Area Recreational Area.
Five LeFlore County football schools will have their final preseason scrimmages tonight.
Panama will visit Heavener at 6:30 p.m.; Spiro will join Hugo and Okmulgee at Pocola at 6 p.m. and Arkoma will join Canadian at Webbers Falls at 6 p.m.

The Talihina Golden Tigers scored six touchdowns in their first 29 plays in last Thursday nightâ€™s scrimmage at Valliant, and 13 TDs overall. However, tonight will be a tougher test when they scrimmage against the Hartshorne Miners and the Morris Eagles at 6:30 tonight in Hartshorne.
The good news for the Bokoshe Tigers so far this preseason is that they havenâ€™t scrimmaged anybody yet.
That will all change tonight when the Tigers get their one and only scrimmage of the preseason when they travel to meet the Keota Lions and the Depew Hornets at 6 p.m. in Keota.
