Archery season is over for this year, so now it is time to hunt some different critters for a while. We still have a couple weeks left to do some squirrel hunting before the season closes, and predator hunting is good this time of year, also.
One type of hunting I love to do is crow hunting, and it is open for the next couple of months. It is a lot of fun for kids and grown-ups alike, and I plan on taking my boys on a few trips in the near future.
The Poteau Daily News has a new Facebook page.
“Actually we made the switch a few months ago. Word has been slow to get out because we left the old page up,” said PDN publisher Robert Shearon.
“The old page has been eliminated and we are hoping everyone will find their way to our new page. We keep it posted with links to news and sports stories, and some readers have posted comments and notices,” Shearon said.

BOKOSHE — For many seasons, Daniel Caldwell coached both the Bokoshe Tigers and Lady Tigers, but this school year he moved to Leflore High School. Monday night at Bokoshe Tigers Fieldhouse, Caldwell brought his new team to town in a homecoming of a sort for the veteran coach. His team didn't disappoint as the Savages handled the Tigers 55-21.
The Lady Tigers won by forfeit over the Lady Savages as a Leflore player's injury in Thursday's game against Red Oak in the 2013 Rock Island Conference Shootout in Buffalo Valley caused the Lady Savages to not have enough players.
