December 4, 2012

HEAVENER — Two county schools' basketball teams opened their seasons against one another Friday night when the Talihina squads came calling on the Heavener teams at the Heavener Gym. Both schools can say they had one of their teams win on opening night.
The Wolves withstood a late rally by the Golden Tigers as Heavener beat Talihina 49-46.
The girls game was much the same as the Lady Golden Tigers got out to a double-digit lead in the second half, only to have to hold off a late charge by the Lady Wolves to hang on for a 42-36 victory.
