Nan Kathryn Smith, 69, of Howe died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in Howe. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.
Sue B. (Kennedy) Dutton, 81, of Poteau died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the First Methodist Church in Leflore with burial in Leflore Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Howard Larry Perkins Sr., 65, of Pocola died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Pocola. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Steep Hill Cemetery, Jenny Lind, Ark., under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Pocola.
Cristallee Gardner, 47, of Panama died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in Panama. She was born Jan. 22, 1964, in Reno, Nev., to Elwin and Lola (Bradin) Foster. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Poteau.
Ricky William Bull, 53, of Van Buren, Ark., died
Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Graveside services
will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Forest
Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of
Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Sallisaw.
The LeFlore County EMS board will decide Monday whether to approve Donald Faulkner as contractor for the Talihina station construction project.
Directors also will discuss staffing an additional ambulance or inter-facilty transport unit, and a partnership agreement with the Choctaw Nation.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the EMS conference room at 1215 S. Broadway.
The November meeting of the LeFlore County Hospital Authority Governing Board will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Conference Room C at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center.
Marion Fry is this year’s recipient of the CASC Distinguished Alumni Association Award. He began his college education as a member of the Scholars Program at Carl Albert State College where he was active in student organizations and activities, including the Circle K Club and the Student Government Association while earning a degree in Pre-law.

ARKOMA — After last season's return to the Class C playoffs for the Arkoma Mustangs, senior quarterback Christian Davis wanted to make it back there once more. He got his wish as the Mustangs will entertain Covington-Douglas at 7:30 p.m. tonight in an opening-round Class C playoff game at Mustang Field.
“It feels good to get back there again,” he said. “It's been fun, and I'm looking forward to (tonight) — I can't stop thinking about it. I have butterflies thinking about it — but in a good way.”
