Where were you then?
How you ever had those conversations that start with I remember exactly where I was . . .
We certainly have. In a new series that will run in the Tuesday edition of Poteau Daily News we will randomly select a story that ran in the paper sometime in the last 100 years and we will do an update.
For example where were you on October 14, 1999 when the brand new Poteau Police Department was officially dedicated? We want to tell you what has changed at the department since that day.

Spiro Bulldogs look good in passing game, defense in Thursday night's three-way football scrimmage

August 18, 2012

TULSA — Two things the Spiro Bulldogs excelled at in a three-way scrimmage Thursday night at Marshall Milton Stadium was their passing game and a bend-but-don’t-break defense.
The Bulldogs scored a passing touchdown against Tulsa Webster, going on to win 7-0 over the host-Warriors, but finished in a pair of scoreless deadlocks with Okmulgee, which carries the same nickname.
In all three sessions, Spiro’s defense gave up big plays but eventually forced turnovers on downs. It also recovered a fumble early in the first session against Okmulgee.
