Edgar Williams, 89, of Pocola died Saturday, Nov, 15, 2014, at his home in Pocola.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. Family visittion will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Pocola.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Spiro City Cemetery.

Lillian Ethel Cosgrove, 91, of Bokoshe died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Mallory-Marrtin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro. Burial wil be in Old Bokoshe Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Richard Blanchard, 68, of Heavener died Nov. 7, 2014.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Poteau. Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener is handling arrangements.

Night Before Christmas banquet tomorrow

November 17, 2014

Grace Cottage's annual "Night Before Christmas" banquet will be tomorrow at the Donald W. Reynolds center in Poteau.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 at the door.

There will be a silent and live auction. Churches and organizations can donate a basket to be voted on the night of the event. For more information call (918) 649-3737.

4 small earthquakes recorded in Oklahoma

LANGSTON, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded four small earthquakes in Oklahoma.

No damage or injuries have been reported.

The USGS says two of the quakes registered a preliminary magnitude of 3.3. The first was recorded at 1:26 a.m. Sunday about nine miles northwest of Langston and the second was at 4:41 p.m. about two miles east of Perry.

A 3.2 magnitude quake was recorded at 4:32 a.m. seven miles southwest of Pawnee and 2.5 quake was recorded at 5:11 a.m. about 13 miles south of Medford.

Sims leads Collin County, Texas, past Carl Albert State Vikings

Getting 18 points from Onyae Sims and shooting 49 percent from the field proved to be the difference for Collin County Community College in its 72-51 win over the Carl Albert State College Vikings on Thursday night at Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Bloomer Sullivan Fieldhouse.
The next game for the Vikings is at 8 p.m. Thursday against archrival Eastern Oklahoma State College at Mick Thompson Fieldhouse. The women's game will be at 6 p.m.

VAN BUREN, Ark. — The Bi-State Bandit fourth-grade team came up a win short of a championship, losing 12-8 to the Vian Wolverines in last weekend’s Bandit Bowl.
