Poteau High School has announced its upcoming production
of the Kaufman and Hart classic "You Can’t Take It With
You" under the direction of new English, Speech, and Drama
instructor Lauren Peck.
Peck, a native of Poteau, says she is pleased to return home
and to work with the youth of the Poteau community.
“I’ve always wanted to make my way back here,” said
Peck. For the past seven years, Peck attended college and
taught in western Kansas. “It feels wonderful to be back with
people who know me and sharing what I love with students.”

Business owner arrested for child porn

October 19, 2011

The owner of a Poteau business is
facing several sex-related criminal
charges after investigators discovered
his collection of child pornography
when allegations of attempted
molestation of two young girls surfaced.
Marty Hester, 52, of Hodgen,
owner of Computer Helpers, a computer
repair and internet cafe business
located at 113 South Witte in
Poteau, was formally charged with
aggravated possession of child pornography
and two counts of lewd or
indecent acts to children under 16
stemming from an incident that
occurred in April.
