Local post office affected by cuts

Rumors that Postal
employees at the Poteau
location could face the loss
of their jobs have been
labeled as false by the U.S.
Postal Service Corporate
Communications Specialist
for Oklahoma, Dionne
Montague.
It had recently been
rumored that the Poteau Post
Office was facing the loss of
up to three employees due
the postal downsize and budget
cuts that have been affecting
post office’s across the
nation. But according to
Montague, that is not so.

A local political party appeared before
the LeFlore County Commissioners to ask
for an investigative audit of the county.
Dewey Harrison, a representative of the
LeFlore County Tea Party was given five
minutes to speak to the commissioners
regarding the ongoing issue. The exchange
was heated from the start.
“The Tea Party has now decided we
would like to ask for an investigative
