Oklahoma Star Competition

As the final night of the OK Star Competition Preliminaries got underway, Jerry
Olsen opened the evening by dazzling the crowd with his lively lasso. He will be
performing during the Phil Gardenhire Rodeo tonight and tomorrow night.
Pictured below: Psalm Yandell, who will have her third birthday next Tuesday
danced to the music as the singers gave it their best, hoping to make it to the final
competition.

Police search for property owner after good deed

A Poteau man recently
proved to local law
enforcement that honesty
still survives in this day
and age after he turned in
valuable property he had
found to the Poteau Police
Department.
Ted D. Kilgore, 73, of
Poteau, pulled up to a
Poteau business a few
weeks ago and to his
amazement found a container
lying in the parking
lot. When he went to
investigate, he discovered
it held a large amount of
coins.

Valley Improvement
Authority said Thursday
that the efforts of county
citizens and a break in the
weather has taken care of
the distribution problems
PVIA was facing just last
week.
Don Goforth said in a
phone interview that he
and his staff have seen
marked improvement at

plant since he contacted
