A clerk at the Days Inn and Suites of Poteau escaped without injury during a robbery Monday night.
According to Poteau Chief of police Stephen Fruen, the two men entered the hotel while the clerk was in a room near the front desk. When she heard a noise, she went to investigate and she discovered one man behind the front counter taking money and another standing in the lobby.
The clerk locked herself in a bathroom and called police.
The two men fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money and were not apprehended.
The robbery still is under investigation.
Area business owner, William Joseph LeRoux Jr., 47, of Hodgen, was arrested Monday night on a sex crimes warrant issued in Arizona.
LeRoux has been charged with 12 counts of sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of public sexual indecency. He is being held in the LeFlore County Detention Center without bail pending transport to Maricopa County, Ariz., to stand trial.
LeRoux opened the web-based business, 701 Corp., on Dewey Avenue in Poteau two years ago after relocating to Oklahoma.
