A Cameron man has been charged with sex crimes involving a minor following an anonymous tip.
According to jail records, Johnny Carter, 71, of Cameron, was processed into the Sebastian County Detention Center on the charge of fourth-degree sexual assault.
A warrant was issued by the Fort Smith Police Department following allegations Carter had engaged in sexual acts with a 15-year-old student from Union Christian Academy.
Carter is currently free on $10,000 bail waiting for his next court date which is yet to be set.
This years winners were named in four separate categories not including the top winner being named the Overall Chairman's Winner.
River Valley Cosmetology's Holiday Barbie float won the judges favor and was named the Overall Chairman's Winner.
In the category of organization and churches: Cub Scout pack #453 took first place followed by Girl Scout Troop #4384 in second and the Poteau Baptist Church winning third.
A Poteau woman was uninjured Saturday night after her car struck a guardrail and was left suspended until emergency crews arrived.
Pam Johnston, 57, of Poteau, told officers she was driving south on the Cavanaugh Scenic Expressway near the Walmart exit when an animal ran out in front of her car. Johnston said she swerved to miss the animal and struck the concrete barrier and slid along the guardrail. The report shows the car traveled four tenths of a mile before stopping on top of the guardrail.
Johnston wasn't injured in the accident.
