Lenard Ray Bond, 18, of Hartshorne, was formally charged with second degree rape after allegations of a sexual relationship a minor girl from Talihina.
According to the affidavit, Talihina Police Officers noticed Bond's vehicle at the girls home and when they knocked on the door, Bond went out the back door. Bond was unable to go far as officer Rodney Faulkenberry was in the back yard and detained him.
Bond allegedly admitted to the allegations.
He is being held on a $15,000 bond at the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department.
Jaclynn Jones, 3, has a new lease on life after her mother donated her kidney to her.
According to Jaclynn's parents, April and Scott Goines, of Shady Point, Jaclynn was born with only one kidney which wasn't functioning properly. She was later placed on a transplant list but her mother's kidney was a suitable match and so the preparations began.
On July 18, the mother and daughter duo went into separate operating rooms to undergo the transplant surgery.
Both are recovering in Oklahoma City.
It has been reported that the Lowrey Hotel in downtown Poteau which houses the LeFlore County Historical Society has been burglarized.
Sources have verified that items, including items of historical significance, have been stolen from the building.
Additionally, it is reported that an attempt to break into the Mainstreet Mattes office was also made, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
