Three people were arrested after the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department served a narcotics search warrant Tuesday.
Donna Sue Stone, 51, Blake Fuller, 23, and Samuel James Hendrix, 21, all of Spiro, were arrested on drug and weapons charges stemming from the search of a home located on State Highway 271 east of Spiro.
Deputies reportedly found prescription pills, marijuana and loaded firearms, one of which was reported stolen.
Oklahoma’s state Runoff Primary Election is less than two weeks away and early voters can cast their ballot as early as Friday, August 24.
According to the LeFlore County Election Board, local voters will go to the polls to vote for three races and a special election. The runoff between democratic candidates Bruce Curnutt and Rob Seale in the race for LeFlore County Sheriff along with both republican and democratic races in the seat for U.S. Representative District 2. The voters of Pocola will vote in a special election to determine who will fill the vacant position of Trustee Ward 4.
The LeFlore County EMS Board will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at 1215 S. Broadway in Poteau.

The LeFlore County Hospital Authority Governing Board will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 in Confrence Room “C” at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center.

On Wednesday the Poteau Chamber of Commerce issued a press release regarding the Christmas light display at Wister lake State Park. The press release stated that park officials had informed organizers that the staff would no longer help put up the display or help in any manner that might require manpower from any park employee.
On Thursday the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department responded to what tourism officials felt were allegations made towards them by the Poteau Chamber. Â
