New health clinic coming to town

Teresa Huggis, CEO of Stigler Health and Wellness Center has announced that the healthcare provider’s Poteau location will open Monday, October 15.
The new location, across the street from the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in the old medical complex. Huggins stated that remodeling work had finished and workers were busy installing the final pieces of equipment.

Talihina Chamber of Commerce receives grant for Fall Festival

The Talihina Chamber
of Commerce has
announced that Talihina’s
Fall Foliage Festival has
been awarded a $3,500
grant from the Oklahoma
Arts Council.
Chamber officials said
the grant money will be
used to provide artists for
the festival to be held Oct.
26 and 27 at the Talihina
Old Gym.
The festival will include
a showcase of arts and
crafts, along with food,
inflatables and live entertainment,
including a street
dance Friday night.
Saturday’s festivities
will include the annual
Talihina car show, held in
tribute this year to John
McLemore who was in
